Chemical peels are cosmetic procedures performed to improve the appearance of the skin. During the treatment, the client will have their skin dermaplaned with a professional blade and a chemical solution applied to the skin, causing it to exfoliate and promote the growth of new, healthier skin cells. Chemical substances are used to unveil a fresh, even and luminous complexion and encourage skin cell regeneration.
Chemical peels come in various strengths (from superficial to medium strength) and come in various formulations, allowing for tailored treatments to address specific skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, acne, scars, and sun damage.

Will my skin peel off?

This is a common question, and the answer is no! You may have seen images of people with their skin crusting and peeling off in huge bits, resulting in a week downtime, this is from deep chemical peel treatments. The chemical peels at Danú Aesthetics are specially researched and chosen to offer you beautiful, safe results, from day one. Our peels are superficial which means that they have less side effects than the deep chemical peels, avoiding risk of infection. We believe that a few superficial peels do the same job of one deep chemical peel.
How many will I need?

This is an answer that will vary from client to client depending on skin concerns, but typically between 3-6 treatments is where you will get the best results. But you will see the glow from the first treatment!
How often should I get this treatment?

Treatment intervals will be discussed with your skin therapist at Danú Aesthetics, as it depends on the type of peel, intensity of peel and the sensitivity of your skin! Very superficial peels, which are performed on clients at the beginning of a series of treatments, could have recurring treatments 1-2weeks. More intense peels, as they perform a greater degree of exfoliation require more time, may have treatment intervals of 3-4 weeks.
